Scratch Removal
Removal of micro-scratches, dull traffic marks and deeper gouges from marble, granite and other stone, using diamond pads matched to scratch depth.
Quick answer
Most scratches come out with medium or fine industrial diamond polishing pads. Deeper scratches need coarse grinding pads first, then progressively finer pads to restore a semi-gloss, and buffing powder or polishing paste for a full gloss. Scratches deeper than about 1/32 to 1/16 inch need proper grinding and polishing; polishing alone will not remove them.
Why it matters
Marble scratches easily; granite is much harder to scratch. Damage ranges from faint, cloudy patches of micro-scratches to deep gouges and chips.
Common causes include cookware and equipment dragged across counters, furniture slid across floors, and sand tracked in on shoes. Granite, marble and other calcareous stones can be restored to their natural appearance by removing the scratches.

Before & After
Removing scratches brings back an even surface. Results depend on scratch depth and the stone.
Prevention
Most scratches are caused by grit and dragging.
Use mats at entrances to catch sand from shoes, lift furniture rather than sliding it, and avoid dragging cookware and equipment across stone counters. Regular dust-mopping removes the grit that dulls a floor over time.

When it is not the right option
